My first trek in Nepal was with Rab and that was an excellent experience. We went for the Gokyo Lake Trek expedition which the hike covered amongst others Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri. The view from these locations were fantastic and included Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and beautiful Gokyo lakes. Throughout the trek Rab was attentive to my mum who struggled on stony routes, acrophobia & uneven paths. Rab was such a fantastic guide that he took care of my mum so well, comforted her and supported her to overcome her fear and challenges. This is definitely a another level of guide service. I would be forever grateful to Rab for his assistance and the wonderful trekking journey I had for this trip.
We've been in Higher Mustang just 2 days ago and we are enthusiastic about this part of Nepal. The trek is 12 days long to go and come back,but we don 't have had so much time,so we have come back by jeep for half of the return. We have contact Chandra (the manager),and our POLAR STAR,2 mounths ago and we have explaned our need.He has managed all the little details about our staying in Nepal ,including hotels and transfer in Pokara and Jomson (Mustang),we have booked by ourself just the intercontinental flight. He is very professional and He also speack english very well. We have knowed him and Super Rabin three years ago in a trek from Gorepani to Poon hill, and they have been as professional and careful even that time. We hope we come back whith they as soon as possible.
When my friends and I came to Nepal, we knew we wanted to do some trekking and somehow the stars alligned and we ended up doing the Annapurna Circuit with Rab. I felt from the get go that Rab was experienced and had our safety in mind and that continued through out the 12 days we spent trekking together. Aside from being responsible and experienced it was also just great fun trekking with Rab, we were always able to have a laugh as well as some more serious and interesting conversations. Having Rab as our guide really made our trip to Nepal and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking into doing any of the various trekking routes in Nepal.
After meeting Hem in Family peace house, Kathmandu. He put us in touch with our guide Ganesh for a 20 day trek from Phaplu to Gokyo, Renjo La pass and back to Phaplu. All the transportation to and from Kathmandu was organised efficiently and well. Our guide who tailor made the trek for us was great. He also shared a common interest in us with food and we spent the days trekking through the amazing Himalayas from the lower lush forests to the high barren snow covered peaks staying in local tea houses eating incredible food and experiencing local life. We feel that if we had of done the trek without the guide we would have missed out on so much, little things like learning about local foods, plants to gems we descovered in the glacier. I couldn't recommend Glacier Nepal treks any higher and will no doubt return to trek other areas of Nepal with them.
We came to Nepal in April 2015 to trek around the Annapurnas with 4 friends. Rabin was a great guide, and also a great friend given the circumstances : we were hit by a massive earthquake at base camp, and while a lot of people were panicking, he managed to make everyone stay calm, and get us to the other side of the mountain. Thanks again Rabin for these 2 weeks, for which we keep an amazing memory ! We’ll come back ;) Louis
I hited Chandra to guide me on the Annapurna Circuit to Poon Hill. Being female and traveling solo can be risky; but I felt completely safe with Chandra. He even went out of his way to take me to local landmarks and to explain some of the history and culture of the area...not to mention he took me to some of the best restaurants for dal bhat! This trip was a game-changer for me and a huge part of that had to do with my guide. I would hands down, absolutely recommend!
We met Rabin through our hostel in Kathmandu. It was a great first meeting, he answered all of our questions and made sure we were prepared for our trek. From getting our bus tickets, to making sure we wouldn’t eat anything that would make us sick, to his knowledge of the geography, history and customs of the areas we hiked through we were blown away. He was always professional and always courteous. He was clearly well experienced in trekking, but his experience with people in the villages was what made our trek unique. He was welcomed by everyone and would tell us THEIR stories. This was an experience we could not have gained any other way. He is so intelligent and so funny. He was not just our guide, we like to think we made a friend in Nepal
We recently did the Poon Hill trek with Chandra as our guide and it was an unbelievable experience. We really loved it and the trip was so well organised and everything went very well. Chandra was a great guide and have a lovely porter called Ram. Both of them were so nice to us and looked after us so well in the mountains., The places we stayed in along the trek were nice and comfortable and food was good. Chandra organised everything very well and was constantly making sure everything was going ok. All in all a really great trip and I would highly recommend Chandra.
Thank God we had Rab on our Annapurna circuit, he sorted so much,the route the best accommodation options, watched us for signs of altitude sickness and had a great laugh with us too. At one point I nearly slid down a snowy cliff edge and Rab jumped straight down (at quite a speed!) and anchored me saving me from the fall. I've already recommend him to friends without any hesitations!
I got in contact with Rab through Family Peace Guest House in Kathmandu, and I was so pleased with the quality of his guiding/organizing and the trip overall. As I was travelling solo in early July (offseason), I had some concerns with the weather/ availability of certain amenities on the trek, but Rab put together an itinerary that gave me peace of mind 100% of the time, and we were blessed with great weather when it counted. While some travellers would be fine on the Annapurna circuit without a guide, trekking with Rab undoubtedly made my experience better, and I would recommend him to friends and family in a heartbeat. Great trekking, great times, and (low quality) pictures to prove it!
